I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1981 from Florida State University and a Master's degree in Integrating Technology in the Classroom from Walden University in Minnesota. I have been teaching for 35 years in the elementary schools. I taught 3rd grade for 19 years, 5th grade for 2 years, and 14 years in gifted education.
Awards
I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year for Ware County school system in 1999.

Personal
I have 2 boys, ages 20 and 29. They are my pride and joy in my life. Joshua my oldest is a graduate of Georgia Tech University with a major in computer engineering and has a job in Atlanta. He has earned his Bachelor's and 2 Master's Degrees. He is married to the former Marsha Pitchford, a graduate of Ware County High School, University of Georgia, and Georgia State University with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Linguistics. She is currently working at Georgia Tech as a ESOL teacher. My youngest, Madison, is presently a junior at The University of Georgia. he is majoring in communication disabilities and minoring in sign language. As for pets, I have 4 cats - Sonny & Cher (10 years old), Spice & Pepper (9 years old).
